Dedicate your 2026 Virtual NYRR Run for Thanks 5K to whoever or whatever you are thankful for this year. If you have loved ones across the globe, encourage them to sign up and run with you anytime between November 21 and November 29 to show your appreciation and feel a connection even if you cannot be physically together. Be a part of the global running community as we all come together to express the gratitude we feel at this time of year.

  • Notes on Registration

    Runners must complete the full 5K distance in a single run activity during one calendar day and upload the activity to Strava. Please note: Your activity must be a GPS upload. Manual uploads, treadmill runs, and activities where friends have “tagged” you are not supported and will not be counted toward your result.

  • TCS New York City Marathon 9+1 Program

    NYRR’s 2026  9+1 program offers members guaranteed, non-complimentary entry to the 2027 TCS New York City Marathon. You can complete the program in 2026 by registering for and completing NYRR in-person and virtual 9+1 qualifying races, volunteering at one +1 qualifying event and ensuring that your NYRR membership is active as of December 31, 2026.

    This virtual race is one of three designated virtual races that is a 9+1 program qualifier. To earn a 9+1 credit for this virtual race, select the “Premium” tier during registration.

  • NYRR Virtual 6 Program

    While general entry is free, you can also purchase entry for this race to begin or to continue your journey to earning guaranteed, non-complimentary entry to the 2027 RBC Brooklyn Half as part of the NYRR Virtual 6 program. Read more about the NYRR Virtual 6 program here.

    A virtual race is a race that can be run at your convenience during a specified period of time. To participate in NYRR Virtual Racing Powered by Strava, create your free Strava account, sign up for a race, and run or walk the distance of the race on a course you select wherever you are.
