Just a month before one of the world’s largest races, this half marathon features jaw-dropping vistas of New York Harbor and the iconic Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge. This exhilarating event is the grand finale of the 2026 NYRR Five-Borough Series and the sixth and final event in the 2026 4 Out of 6 program, which offers guaranteed entry to the 2027 United Airlines NYC Half.

    We at New York Road Runners believe running should be accessible to everyone. To help, we created NYRR Race Free to provide race fee assistance to those who qualify financially.

    In 2026, we will offer 1,000 spots in the NYRR Race Free Program and more than 3,000 complimentary race entries, including entry for the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon. Accepted NYRR Race Free participants will receive up to 6 complimentary entries to our weekly races and the opportunity to access training for free.

    The 2026 application period is now closed. We invite you to apply for the 2027 NYRR Race Free program, which is expected to open in October 2026. Please visit the NYRR Race Free page for updates in September.

    Numbers (which include your timing tag) may be picked up at the NYRR RUNCENTER featuring the New Balance Run Hub at  320 West 57th Street (between Eighth and Ninth avenues) on the following dates:

    Runners are encouraged to pick up their bibs at the RUNCENTER to avoid race day lines.  

    All participants will receive a New Balance Long Sleeve T-Shirt at number pickup. Your shirt size may not be available at the time of bib pickup. 

     On race day, number pickup will be available from 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. at Race Day Central (Outside of St. George Ferry Terminal). 

    Show your race confirmation email or the QR code from your NYRR account to pick up your race materials. Proxy bib pickup is available for this race, so a friend or family member can pick up your race materials. The person will need the QR code for your NYRR account.  

  • Pace Band

    When you pick up your bib at the RUNCENTER featuring the New Balance Run Hub, make sure you pick up a pace band to help you achieve your goal time on race day. Free NYRR Pace Bands Powered by Tata Consultancy Services are available in five-minute finish-time increments from 1:20 to 3:15. Pace bands are in miles and adjusted to the NYRR Staten Island Half course.

Race Day Information

  • Transportation to Staten Island

    We strongly recommend taking the Staten Island Ferry from the Whitehall Terminal (Manhattan). View the ferry schedule.

    Wave 1 runners should take the 6:00 a.m., 6:30 a.m., or 7:00 a.m. ferries to ensure there is enough time to check bags, use portable toilets, and go through security screening before entering their corrals on time.

    Use the MTA's Planned Service Changes schedule to plan your race-day transportation.

  • Race-Day Number Pickup Policy

    On race day, number pickup will be available from 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. at Race Day Central (Outside of St. George Ferry Terminal). 

    Bib pickup will close 10 minutes after the start time of the race. Runners arriving to pick up their bib after that time will not be issued a bib and will not receive 9+1 credit for the race.

    Runners will start on Bay Street and Slosson Terrace, just a few blocks from the Staten Island Ferry terminal. They'll run south on Bay Street to School Road, where they'll turn right, then left onto Lily Pond Avenue. They'll then make a right onto Father Capodanno Blvd, run an out and back along Staten Island's beautiful ocean beaches, then head towards historic Fort Wadsworth, part of the National Park Service's Gateway National Recreation Area. When they exit the Park, runners will run back onto Bay Street, then turn left on Edgewater Drive to run along Staten Island's northern shoreline with stunning views of the Manhattan skyline. Runners's will then make their way back to Bay Street and finish just north of where they started.

  • Bag Check

    On race day, bag check will be available from 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. at Race Day Central (Outside of St. George Ferry Terminal). 

    Planning to check a bag on race morning? While we will continue to have clear plastic bags available at number pickup, we encourage you to use your own clear reusable plastic bag, no larger than 17" wide x 20" high x 7" deep, with the tag affixed. Only clear bags may be checked at bag check, we are unable to check opaque bags of any size.

    NYRR is not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen bags or items from bags checked at NYRR bag check.

    • Maurten Gel Depot (Mile 7) will have Maurten Gel 100 (non-caffeinated in black packaging) and Maurten Gel 100 Caf 100 (caffeinated in white packaging). We strongly advise that you carry your own fuel, in addition to using this Maurten Gel Depot to supplement your fueling. Please note the number of gels available on course is limited and is not guaranteed. Please be respectful of the runners who come behind you. We recommend taking one gel at the Gel Depot.

  • NYRR Pace Team

    The NYRR Pace Team members are some of the most experienced runners in New York City and the most knowledgeable runners on the course. They hit their target finish time 96.5% of the time. Pacers will be on hand to guide participants toward specific goal times over the entire race distance.

    If you choose to run with a pace group, you can look for NYRR Pace Team members in the start corrals wearing their blue-and-white-striped NYRR Pace Team singlets. Each pacer will wear orange-and-blue back flags displaying their target finish times and average pace, making them easy to spot throughout the race. There is no fee or sign-up required to run with the pace team.

  • Runner Tracking (App), Results, and Awards

    Live, unofficial results/runner tracking will be available in the NYRR App during the event. Please note: Runner tracking is available at all scored races.

    After the conclusion of the event, official results will be posted on results.nyrr.org.

    Awards will be presented on site to the top three finishers in the overall men, women, and nonbinary divisions. Runners who place in the top three of their age group will be able to claim an award in the days following the race by filling out our Age-Group Awards Claim Form.

  • Prize Money

    NYRR Member Division

    All prize money amounts are equal for men, women, and nonbinary categories and subject to all applicable rules and policies regarding prize money. To be eligible for prize money and time bonuses, including Top Staten Island Finisher, a runner must have had a valid paid NYRR membership since at least July 11, 2026 through at least the date of the race, and must complete the course in 1 hour 30 minutes or faster.

    NYRR Member Division Top Staten Island Finisher

    The top man, woman, and nonbinary finisher from Staten Island, based on Net time, who meet the NYRR Member Division requirements will be awarded $500. Residency is determined by zip code at the time of registration. Cumulative with overall prize money, if applicable.

    NYRR Member Time Bonuses

    Race winner who meets the NYRR Member Division requirements and breaks the existing event record, based on Gun Time.   • 4 Out of 6 Program

    The 4 Out of 6 program allows NYRR members who meet the eligibility requirements to gain guaranteed entry to the United Airlines NYC Half.

    Eligibility for entry to the 2027 United Airlines NYC Half will be guaranteed for NYRR members who complete four qualifying events in 2026 and have an active membership by the last qualifying event of the 2026 4 Out of 6 program (the NYRR Staten Island Half on October 11, 2026).

    The following races in 2026 will count toward the 4 Out of 6 program qualification for the 2027 United Airlines NYC Half (Please note all dates are pending permit approval and subject to change):

    • NYRR Manhattan 10K (February 1)
    • Virtual United Airlines NYC Half Medal (March 7-15)
    • United Airlines NYC Half (March 15)
    • Virtual RBC Brooklyn Half Medal (May 9-17)
    • RBC Brooklyn Half (May 16)
    • Citizens Queens 10K (June 13)
    • New Balance Bronx 10 Mile (September 19)
    • NYRR Staten Island Half (October 11)
  • Cancellation Policy

    If NYRR cancels an offering on the direction of local, city, or state authorities, participants will be informed as soon as possible, including communication of participant resolution options. Events will not be rescheduled.

    No Refunds: Entry fees are non-refundable and may not be deferred or transferred.
