Whether you're an experienced runner or just starting your journey, this event brings the neighborhood’s dynamic character to life. From the music to the energy of our local run clubs, this race offers a unique experience that blends the transformative power of running with the rich cultural tapestry of Upper Manhattan.

Kids Can Run Too! We're headed uptown to kick off the 2025 Rising New York Road Runners season in Washington Heights, home to a vibrant and diverse community with stunning views of the Hudson River.

  • NYRR Race Free

    We at New York Road Runners believe running should be accessible to everyone. To help, we created NYRR Race Free to provide race fee assistance to those who qualify financially.

    In 2025, we will offer 1,000 program slots and more than 3,000 complimentary race entries, including for the TCS New York City Marathon. Race Free applications that meet the eligibility criteria will be pooled based on previous participation and selected by borough or zip code until all slots are filled. The application will open November 12 and will close November 26, 2024.

    Accepted 2025 participants will be notified in late December 2024. Learn more and apply here.

    The Member-Only Standby List for the NYRR Washington Heights Salsa, Blues and Shamrocks 5K is full. If you already submitted your name to the Member-Only Standby List for this event, you could be selected from the standby list and sent a non-complimentary invitation code up to 48 hours before the event date.

    • We’ve updated our website to increase inclusivity and representation in our races. Runners can register as woman, man, or non-binary. Visit our FAQ page for more information on how to update your profile.
    • If you wish to pay in cash for your race entry, please reach out to our Runner Services team for assistance. Please be sure to include the event name and the email associated with your NYRR account.
    • This race is a 9+1 program qualifier.

  • Race Number Pickup

    Numbers (which include your timing tag) may be picked up at the NYRR RUNCENTER featuring the New Balance Run Hub at 320 West 57th Street (between Eighth and Ninth avenues). Please check back closer to race day for race number pickup details.

  • Course Strategy

    Join us at the NYRR RUNCENTER featuring the New Balance Run Hub for the NYRR Washington Heights Salsa, Blues, and Shamrock 5K Course Strategy event on Thursday, February 27 at 6:00 p.m. as NYRR coaches will share tips and tricks on how to conquer the race.

Cancellation

If NYRR cancels an offering on the direction of local, city, or state authorities, participants will be informed as soon as possible, including communication of participant resolution options. Events will not be rescheduled.

No Refunds: Entry fees are non-refundable and may not be deferred or transferred.
