Event Details

Ready to take your first step into running? The NYRR Start Line Series is a free, beginner-friendly fun run series designed to welcome everyone to the transformative power of running. In partnership with NYC DOT’s Summer Streets program, we’re bringing two exciting community fun runs to the streets of New York City this summer:

  • August 23: Crown Heights, Brooklyn | 5 Kilometers
  • [COMPLETED] July 26: Long Island City, Queens | 2.5 Miles (View Completed Event)

Whether you run, jog, or walk, every step toward the start line is a powerful act of belonging. No matter your pace or experience, the NYRR Start Line Series invites you to become part of something bigger with free, supportive fun runs that celebrate movement and community.   • Number Pickup

    Numbers may be picked up at the NYRR RUNCENTER featuring the New Balance Run Hub at 320 West 57th Street (between Eighth and Ninth avenues) on the following dates:

    • Sunday, August 10, 9:30 a.m. 5:00 p.m.
    • Monday, August 11, 9:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.

    **The RUNCENTER will close at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 12**

    Runners are encouraged to pick up their bibs at the RUNCENTER to avoid race day lines.

    On race day, number pickup will be available from 6:15 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. at Race-Day Central (located on Eastern Parkway between Rochester Avenue and Utica Avenue).

    Show your race confirmation email or the QR code from your NYRR account to pick up your race materials. Proxy bib pickup is available for this race, so a friend or family member can pick up your race materials. The person will need the QR code for your NYRR account, along with a form of photo identification that corresponds to your NYRR account.

Cancellation Policy

If NYRR cancels an offering on the direction of local, city, or state authorities, participants will be informed as soon as possible, including communication of participant resolution options. Events will not be rescheduled.
