VP, Strategic Partnerships and Business Development
Julie Schweigert joined NYRR in March 2017 as Director, Strategic Partnerships, and became Vice President, Strategic Partnerships and Business Development, in October 2024.
In this role, she leads a team responsible for securing mission-aligned, revenue-generating partnerships from corporate and community-based organizations, and driving innovative growth for NYRR across media, program, and licensing initiatives. She is thrilled to have contributed to several NYRR milestone moments including NYRR’s 60th anniversary; the 50th running of the TCS New York City Marathon; the renewal of NYRR’s Premier Partner, TCS; and the creation of numerous races and events designed to expand NYRR’s reach and mission.
A results-focused social impact leader passionate about building and implementing purpose-driven partnerships, Julie has an extensive professional background in operations, integrated marketing, live events, and building effective teams. In her prior role at Marketing Werks, Julie served as SVP of Client Service and Managing Director of the agency’s NYC office. Her work creating memorable campaigns and programming for clients within the nation’s largest cultural events including Super Bowl, NHL Winter Classic Series, INDYCAR SERIES, and college football and basketball championships encouraged her transition into a sports-driven organization focused on positive community impact. Her early career work includes roles at Edelman and Northern Trust in public relations and corporate philanthropy.
An active volunteer and mentor, Julie enjoys project work with New York Cares, serving as a volunteer therapy team with her dog Atlas, and planning educational events for WISE (Women in Sports and Events). Her prior board service includes supporting the Harlem-based youth baseball league Harlem Hellfighters.
Julie graduated from Miami University and earned a Masters in Non-profit Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania. Originally from the Chicago area, she currently resides in Manhattan where she enjoys the city’s food culture and spending time in her favorite parks. Inspired by her opportunity to celebrate finishers at countless NYRR finish lines, running is now a key part of her wellness routine, and she has completed three marathons.
