Celebrate 50 Years Through the Five Boroughs with Open Run

In honor of the 50th Anniversary of the 5-boro New York City Marathon course, we’re hosting special Open Run celebrations in each of the five boroughs. Join us to celebrate the unique community spirit and culture of each borough, united by Open Run and the transformative power of movement.

Learn more about the five founders of the iconic five-borough New York City Marathon course—Ted Corbitt, George Hirsch, Fred Lebow, George Spitz, and Percy Sutton.

If your application to the Finale of 50 Years Through the Five Boroughs Open Run Celebration was approved the event starts on October 4, 2026, check in at 7:30 a.m. Event begins at 9:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Park.  

Bib pickup at the New Balance Run Hub 320 W 57th St Ground Floor, New York, NY 10019 from Tuesday, September 29 –Saturday, October 3 by 12 p.m. 

Register in advance to save your spot! This event is exclusively for the first 60 registrants from each of the five boroughs and Lincoln Park, Jersey City. All participants will receive a special gift onsite! You don't want to miss this!
