For his 50th birthday, Giles is completing seven TCS-sponsored marathons across four continents in support of the Motor Neurone Disease Association, to honor his mother, who passed away earlier this year after a nearly decade-long battle with the disease.

What are you most excited about for the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon, which is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the iconic 5-boro marathon course?

“To share the milestone as I too turn 50 this year, to experience the excitement through the iconic 5-boro crowd support, the atmosphere and to cross the finish line in Central Park during the 50th anniversary of the 5-boro NYC marathon feels like pure destiny.”
