Member Week Community Spirit Honor
OFFICIAL RULES
Please read these Official Rules. By participating in the Member Week Community Spirit Recognition Honor, you unconditionally agree to these Official Rules and all decisions by NYRR (“Sponsor”), which are final and binding in all matters related to the Award.
1. ELIGIBILITY: The Award is open only to the following individuals (each, an “Eligible Participant”)
- The award is open to individuals who are Members of New York Road Runners legal residents of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia, and International countries represented by the current membership roster, and who are at least eighteen (18) years of age or the age of majority in their jurisdiction of legal residence (whichever is older as of the date of nomination).
- Any participation by any ineligible person(s) will be void. All the directors, officers, employees and agents of Sponsor and each of their respective affiliates, distributors, licensees, agents, website administrators, agencies, and any immediate family members (spouses, parents, children, and siblings and their respective spouses, regardless of where they reside) and those living in the same household (whether related or not) of any of the foregoing, are not eligible to participate in the Award.
2. NOMINATION PERIOD: The Contest will run from 10:00 a.m. EST. on Thursday, June 26, 2025, until 11:59 p.m. EST on Sunday, July 6, 2025.
3. HOW TO NOMINATE: New York Road Runners (NYRR) invite its members to nominate themselves or other NYRR members who exemplify the core values of this award. Nominations are welcome for runners of all backgrounds, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, or ability. Apply using this form: See Here
4. SELECTION OF WINNERS: NYRR will carefully review all nominations and select the top 3 finalists (with 1 Grand Prize) for the Member Week Community Spirit recognition honor. The Member Week planning committee will review the submissions and select one grand prize winner based on the following criteria (judging criteria):

- 40% Nomination reasons
- 40%: Quality of service - what the nominee has done to deserve the honor
- 20%: Articulation and persuasiveness of nominator
5. PRIZES:
2 Finalists Receive:
- NYRR Gift Bag with a Membership Branded Item & Letter of Congratulations
- Mention at the NYRR Grete’s Great Gallop 10K Festival
Grand Prize Winner Receives:
- A Certificate, and a complimentary guaranteed bib to the next Member Week 2026 Member-only race (TBD).
- Recognition during NYRR Grete’s Great Gallop 10K Festival
- Name and special recognition honor on the membership webpage and/or blog post
If Sponsor is unable to provide the Winner(s) with their prize(s), Sponsor may elect, in its sole and absolute discretion, to provide Winner(s) with an alternate prize of equal or greater value. If a Winner declines a prize for any reason, the Winner will not receive any substitution or reimbursement of the prize or portion thereof. The prizes are provided as-is with no guarantee. All warranties, whether express or implied, including the warranties of merchantability and fitness for a purpose, are hereby disclaimed by the released parties. All prize details are at Sponsor’s sole discretion. Any costs and expenses associated with prize acceptance and use not specified herein as being provided are Winners’ sole responsibility.
6. NOTIFICATION OF WINNERS AND DELIVERY OF PRIZES: The Two (2) Finalist and One (1) Grand Prize winners will be selected from the nominees on July 17, contacted by July 21,
and announced on the Member Week page in early August.
7. USE OF NAME AND LIKENESS: TParticipation in the Awards constitutes participant’s grant to Sponsor (which grant Winner will confirm in writing on request of Sponsor), the right and permission in perpetuity to print, publish, broadcast, and use, world-wide in any media now known or hereafter developed, including but not limited to the internet and social media, at any time or times, the Winner’s entry, name, portrait, picture, voice, likeness, opinions, and biographical information (including but not limited to hometown and state) for advertising, trade, and promotional purposes (including the announcement of his or her name on television or radio broadcast) without additional consideration, compensation, permission, or notification.
All copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights in such use shall be owned by Sponsor and/or its licensors, and each winning participant hereby disclaims and waives any claim to such intellectual property rights.
8. LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY; GENERAL CONDITIONS: Sponsor, and their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising, fulfillment, marketing, and promotion agencies, and all their respective officers, directors, shareholders, partners, members, principals, employees, agents, contractors or suppliers (collectively, “Released Parties”) are not responsible for:
a) late, lost, stolen, damaged, garbled, incomplete, mistyped, misaddressed or misdirected entries, emails, mail or communications;
b) errors (including printing), omissions, interruptions, deletions, defects, or delays in operations or transmission of information, whether arising by way of technical or other failures or malfunctions of computer hardware, software, communications devices;
c) electronic communications that are undeliverable because of any form of active or passive filtering of any kind, or insufficient space in entrant’s email account to receive email messages or insufficient space on an entrant’s computer; and
d) errors in the administration of these Awards. Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to modify, cancel, terminate, or suspend the Awards should any virus, bug, technical failures, unauthorized human intervention, or other causes beyond Sponsor’s control corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Awards. In the event of any such cancellation, termination, or suspension, a notice will be posted and Sponsor in its sole discretion may select Potential Winners among all eligible, non-suspect entries received prior to such time. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify entrants if their misconduct affects the integrity of the Awards or if they engage in any inappropriate or unacceptable behavior in connection with the Awards. Released Parties reserve the right to correct clerical or typographical errors in promotional materials.
9. NOMINATOR'S PERSONAL INFORMATION: By participating in this Member Week Recognition Honor, you consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your personal information for the purpose of administering these Awards and prize fulfillment. You may also have the opportunity to sign up to receive promotional emails from parties associated with the recognition honor. Your choice to consent to such emails or to opt out of such emails in future does not impact your chances of winning.
10. PRIVACY: Any personal information that a nominator provides in connection with the Awards shall be used by the Sponsor to administer these Awards, contact nominees.
