Stephanie has been an avid runner since high school, when she first fell in love with the grittiness of running cross country.

Stephanie has been an avid runner since high school, when she first fell in love with the grittiness of running cross country. Since then, running has become an integral part of her life, building up her confidence both personally and professionally but also creating lasting friendships on long runs and new routes. In 2016, she completed her Master's in Sports Administration & Coaching and became a certified RRCA Level 1-certified coach. She’s been coaching adult athletes since 2016 at a local gym in New Jersey where she preaches celebrating the little wins, like running your first mile without stopping and celebrating new personal bests! Coaching has created a space for her to share her joy, knowledge, and love for the sport. Stephanie's first NYRR race was in 2011 when she ran the More/Fitness Women’s Half Marathon and has only grown more in love with racing in the city year after year. Stephanie has completed many marathons and multiple half marathons.

What is your proudest coaching moment?
When I see runners tackle different distances they thought they could never do, that is what makes me proud. Watching their insecurities disappear as they become more confident in themselves and their running abilities, that is all a coach can ask for!

What is your favorite workout to coach and why?
My favorite workout to coach in Central Park is the light pole workout at the Reservoir.

Where is your favorite place to run in New York City?
My favorite place to run in the city is Van Cortland Park. Having attended Manhattan College as an undergrad, VCP was right across the street so taking a daily run through the woods and trails with my running buddy in the park quickly became a part of our routine during my time there. I always recommend runners sign up for the NYRR Van Cortland Park Cross Country series because it is such a fun place to try trail running.

What is your favorite NYRR race?
The NYRR Ted Corbitt 15K. For NYRR this race holds so much history but not only that, for me, I love running in the winter and this distance is so unique it allows you to push yourself.
