Relentless forward motion.
Running MottoCoach Noa got into running later in life, preferring movie marathons to running marathons (or athletic feats of any kind) until her mid-20s. Her life trajectory took a turn when a best friend challenged her to take a Level 1 NYRR running class to learn how to run a continuous 20 minutes. She survived and trained hard and ran the marathon the following year, surprising everyone, including herself. It was hot, hard, and took a while, but she was hooked. Multiple full marathons, many Olympic triathlons, and countless shorter distance races later, she's rarely not active.
How would you describe your coaching style?
My coaching style is inclusive, motivating, and fun. We get to do this, let's enjoy the process. I love working with athletes of all paces, all backgrounds, and all experiences. The running community connects us with people we may not have otherwise met – what a joy!
What is your proudest coaching moment?
It's hard to name just one, but seeing my athletes reach their goals – time, distance, lifestyle – makes me oh so proud. The New York City Marathon is my favorite day in the city, so seeing my athletes run by and cheering my face off is the ultimate pride amplifier.
What is your favorite workout to coach and why?
I love coaching intervals – work hard, recover hard! It lets me push athletes to get to that uncomfortable zone but then help them catch their breath and recover properly (while chit chatting to ensure that!) before the next go.
