Run smart and always run with your heart.
Running MottoMolly began her running journey while playing youth sports but found her true love many years later while living in NYC. Running provided not only a means of transportation and a way to explore the city, but also a community of amazing people. After running her first half marathon in Ireland, she signed up for her next half with Team for Kids. While running with TFK she started her journey with marathon running and eventually became a mentor for the team. Through her mentor experiences and encouragement from those around her, Molly signed up for the RRCA coaching certification course and joined the NYRR coaching team. She loves motivating those around her to get active and empower them through running. When not coaching adults, she loves coaching children through the family running class series.
Whether it be a mile race, marathon, or a trail ultra-marathon, Molly sees a run as a “blank canvas waiting to be filled with color of discovery.” Running has allowed her to travel the world and explore places she once never dreamed of visiting. When not coaching, her eyes are set on completing her last of the Abbott World Marathon Majors in London!
How would you describe your coaching style?
I like to motivate and encourage my runners. As runners, we are all trying to make the best of ourselves and it is important to realize that we all have different needs. While offering general running guidance and form tips throughout the workout, I also concentrate on the runners’ specific needs. I also run beside them being their biggest cheerleader!
What is your proudest coaching moment?
My proudest coaching moments come when I see the improvements of my runners over time. A few of the top moments are seeing runners that I started working with in beginners/Fundamentals progress through the Group Training program and eventually running a 5K, half marathon, and marathon. Another top moment is seeing children from family running classes run their first races at the youth running series!
What is your favorite workout to coach and why?
I love a great hill workout. To perform a hill workout well, you need to emphasize your running form: picking up your knees, pumping your arms, and keeping your eyes in the direction you are heading. There is no better feeling than getting to the top of a hill… and the hill workouts make a flatter run just a little bit easier.
How many years have you been coaching?
5 years and counting
Please list any awards, achievements, or certifications below.

What is your favorite place to run in New York City?
Randall’s and Wards Islands. There is something super special about running by the water.
What is your favorite NYRR race?
Aside from the TCS New York City Marathon (the best day of the year), nothing beats the New Balance Bronx 10 Mile!
