Running MottoLakeisha Edwards is a NASM CPT and PES, spin instructor and running coach. She began running cross country in middle school and progressed to speed doing 400- meter relays in high school where the team won multiple city-wide championships. In 2011, after losing her mother to cardiovascular disease; she began training to run the New York City Marathon for The American Heart Associate to raise awareness to disease in the African American community and has since been an avid distance runner. .
How would you describe your coaching style?
Motivational, no excuses coach
What is your proudest coaching moment?
When someone I've trained pushes past a mental barrier and finishes! I love when the switch goes from I can't to I just did!
What is your favorite workout to coach and why?
I love speed training. It was the start of when I began running in my youth. It will always be my first love.
