Running MottoCharley is a 30+ marathoner finisher and Ironman triathlete. He began his coaching career as the head coach of Jackrabbit Sports Targeted Training program where he helped hundreds of athletes achieve personal bests in distances ranging from the 5K to ultra marathons. He believes in meeting each athlete where they are and strives to create a supportive and safe environment where athletes can constantly redefine their limits.
How would you describe your coaching style?
Positive, encouraging and focused on helping athletes learn to listen to their bodies to limit any risk of injury.
What is your proudest coaching moment?
Anytime that I can help someone cross a finish line that they once viewed as impossible.
What is your favorite workout to coach and why?
800 meter repeats. It's a great way to push into new limits and it allows us to really challenge one another.

Nothing can beat the outer loop of Central Park on a crisp autumn morning.
What is your favorite NYRR race?
It’s a 3-way tie between the TCS New York City Marathon, the New Balance 5th Avenue Mile and the New Balance Bronx 10 Mile.
