Take one mile at a time. Each mile in a marathon can be like a day in our lives. As one single day can make us feel down and discouraged, there is always another day. So, if you feel weak in one mile, make the next mile count. Don't let the tougher miles bring you down, they are fuel for the remainder of the race. The next mile is like a new day so regroup and refocus and tackle it one step at a time. Enjoy the ride.

Running Motto

Allyce has been running since she was a child. Running was a part of her childhood as she would go out for runs with her parents. Now Allyce is a registered nurse in the New York City and focuses on school health. Allyce is a certified coach through RRCA (Road Runners Club of America). She truly enjoys helping people live healthier lives whether that is through nursing or running. Allyce has completed several marathons yet her all-time favorite is the New York City Marathon.

How would you describe your coaching style?
Meet people where they are. Each individual has different strengths and needs.

What is your proudest coaching moment?
I ran track and field in high school where I held the school record for the 4x100 meter relay. After graduating, I coached at my school and helped the 4x100 meter team beat my record.

What is your favorite workout to coach and why?
My favorite workouts to coach are speed workouts! I love the full out max efforts as these are the workouts that have helped me in my own races. I love seeing runners incorporate speed work into their weekly training and then see their times improve at their next race.

Where is your favorite place to run in New York City?
My favorite place to run in NYC is along the East River and McCarren Park for Track Tuesday workouts!

What is your favorite NYRR race?
My favorite NYRR race is the New York City Marathon. There is NO other day like it.
