    In December 2025, Laura’s best friend, Christina Chambers, was killed in a murder suicide by her husband.

    Laura ran her first half marathon with Christina, who was an avid runner and college track athlete. In Christina’s honor, Laura is running the TCS New York City Marathon to raise funds for Sanctuary for Families and support victims of domestic violence.

    What are you most excited about for the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon, which is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the iconic 5-boro marathon course?

    “I’m excited to be running my first marathon in the greatest city in the world while I carry on Christina’s legacy and love of running. I’m looking forward to feeding off of the energy that only the streets of NYC can provide.”
