New York Road Runners and Popular Announce New Strategic Marketing Partnership
New York, NY, December 18, 2017—New York Road Runners, the world’s premier community running organization, and Popular, a subsidiary of Popular, Inc., (Nasdaq:BPOP), today announced a three-year partnership naming Popular as title sponsor of the Brooklyn Half, now the Popular Brooklyn Half. Popular will serve as the exclusive official bank of the 2018 Popular Brooklyn Half and a strategic partner of the NYRR Five-Borough Series, which includes the United Airlines NYC Half, Popular Brooklyn Half, NYRR Queens 10K, New Balance Bronx 10 Mile, and NYRR Staten Island Half.

The 2018 Popular Brooklyn Half festivities will kick off Wednesday, May 16 at the Popular Brooklyn Half Pre-Party Presented by New Balance, a three-day pre-race celebration. On Saturday, May 19, the race will begin at the Brooklyn Museum, pass scenic Grand Army Plaza, and run through Prospect Park and along Ocean Parkway to the finish line on the Coney Island boardwalk. That day will also see hundreds of youth runners compete in the fourth-annual Rising New York Road Runners youth run at the Popular Brooklyn Half.
Registration for the 2018 Popular Brooklyn Half will open at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 31. Guaranteed entrants may claim their entry between January 9 and January 23. The 2017 Brooklyn Half had 27,445 finishers.
