WHAT: The 46th running of the TCS New York City Marathon

WHO: A competitive field of professional athletes and notable personalities, including:

  • Winners of the professional men’s, women’s, and wheelchair division, and the top Americans finishers
  • Hundreds of youth runners in the second-annual NYRR Youth Invitational at the TCS New York City Marathon, 1.8-mile race through the final miles of the TCS New York City Marathon course in Central Park, before the 50,000 Marathon runners start the race in Staten Island
  • Notable personalities running in the race that may be included in the footage:
  • Marion Bartoli, 2013 Wimbledon Singles Champion and former top-ten player; running her first in support of NYRR’s Team for Kids charity
  • Cynthia Erivo, 2016 Tony Award winner for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical for The Color Purple; will also be singing the National Anthem at the Start of the TCS New York City Marathon
  • Raúl González Blanco, Spanish soccer legend who played for Real Madrid
  • Jax, American Idol finalist running her first marathon after overcoming thyroid cancer; running on behalf of Tuesday’s Children
  • Nev Schulman, the host and executive producer of the hit MTV series, CATFISH: THE TV SHOW; running on behalf of New York City Ballet, Inc.
  • Grand Marshals of the 2016 TCS New York City Marathon, members of the Rio 2016 U.S. Olympic Marathon Team, Amy Cragg, Shalane Flanagan, Desiree Linden, Meb Keflezighi, and Jared Ward, riding in the official Grand Marshal vehicle through the 26.2-mile marathon route on race day with the TCS New York City Marathon Race Director Peter Ciaccia

  • Applicant can air live or taped Coverage segments minutes in regularly-scheduled newscasts, including sports newscasts, in the United States, its territories or possessions, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico or internationally (the “Territory”) before 9:00 a.m. or after 2:00 p.m. (E.S.T.) on Sunday, November 6, 2016.
  • On-screen credit should accompany the use of footage from the event attributed to “Courtesy of New York Road Runners.”
