New York, June 3, 2016—New York Road Runners (NYRR) today announced a new photography services alliance for key upcoming races. NYRR’s new partnership with Gameface, the largest provider of free sporting event photos in the United States, offers runners free race photos at selected races. Longtime NYRR photo partner MarathonFoto returns as exclusive photo provider for the 2016 TCS New York City Marathon and 2017 United Airlines NYC Half.

“We are excited for our runners to benefit from the new Gameface relationship, and to continue our longstanding partnership with MarathonFoto,” said Michael Capiraso, president and CEO of New York Road Runners. “Gameface brings great value to our runners with the offering of free photos at selected races, and their social media technology that allows runners to easily share photos across their social channels. We are also excited to continue our relationship with MarathonFoto for the 2016 TCS New York City Marathon and 2017 NYC Half.”

The new partnership with Gameface will provide runners with free photos at selected races for the next three years. The first race offering this opportunity was the 2016 Airbnb Brooklyn Half, and runners will receive free digital race photos at upcoming iconic events such as the New Balance Fifth Avenue Mile, the NYRR Staten Island Half Marathon and the Midnight Run. With more than 100,000 runners in these events every year, Gameface expects to deliver approximately 3,000,000 free digital photos to participants over the three-year partnership. Runners will also have the option of purchasing their photos on prints, coffee mugs, phone cases and much more.

NYRR will deliver runners their free, high-resolution pictures on a Gameface technology platform that allows for easy downloads and sharing across major social media channels. Gameface has grown into one of the largest race photography companies in the world by using a revolutionary model that allows a brand sponsor to underwrite the cost of providing photos to runners. Runners enjoy the benefits of free race photos while brands receive deep engagement with the athletes through tasteful advertisements integrated into the photo experience.

“As a lifelong runner, I know firsthand how much personal race photos mean to amateur athletes,” said David Lavallee, Gameface Co-Founder and CEO. “We have a very fun job because every day we get to provide our running friends with a lifelong memory.”
