NYRR will be hosting events for all ages and abilities this month. Many events are festive and fun for the whole family, with kids’ races, pre- and post-race entertainment, and more. Scotland Run (10K) (sold out) Saturday, April 4, 2015 8:00 a.m., Central Park, Manhattan PR Contact: Rob Molke, NYRR, rmolke@nyrr.org, or (o) 646-758-9711 (c) 646-531-2425 On Saturday, April 4, runners will bring their tartan style to Central Park and show their love for Scotland at the 12th annual Scotland Run (10K). It is a part of #Scotweek festivities in New York City. A key part of the annual Scotland Week celebration, Scotland Run attracts runners from across the globe many outfitted in kilts, traditional tartan and face paint. Runners can enjoy the sounds of bagpipes and a park full of cheering spectators. For more information about the event, please visit here. NYRR Youth Running Series at the Scotland Run Saturday, April 4, 2015 10:15 a.m., Manhattan PR Contact: Laura Paulus, NYRR, lpaulus@nyrr.org As part of the NYRR Youth Running Series, for the first time at the Scotland Run, young runners ages 7-18 can take part in a 1.7-mile race in Central Park. They work in over 350 parks citywide, presenting a broad range of programs in an effort to promote healthy communities. Additional information can be found here. MORE/FITNESS/SHAPE Women's Half-Marathon (sold out) Sunday, April 19, 2015 8:00 a.m., Central Park, Manhattan PR Contact: Emily Gallagher, NYRR, egallagher@nyrr.org, or (o) 212-423-2287 (c) 646-737-3840 The 12th Annual MORE/FITNESS/SHAPE Women's Half-Marathon brings together thousands of women of all ages and backgrounds for a day of fun, fitness, and camaraderie in New York City. Special guests Erica Hill and Natalie Morales from the TODAY show will co-host the event, while professional runner Deena Kastor will aim for her third straight victory. Female runners from all over the world are welcome to join and share the joyful moments together. Visit here for more information about the event. Run as One (4M) Presented by JPMorgan Chase (near capacity) Sunday, April 26, 2015 8:30 a.m., Central Park, Manhattan PR Contact: Rob Molke, NYRR, rmolke@nyrr.org, or (o) 646-758-9711 (c) 646-531-2425 This 4-mile race raises funding and awareness in the fight against lung cancer and honors former Chase Manhattan Bank chairman Tom Labrecque, a lifelong never-smoker who died from lung cancer at age 62. Thousands of runners will “run as one” to raise money to support lung cancer research and awareness. For more information about the race, please visit here. The walk will begin on Central Park's East Drive at approximately 68th Street and head south, and finish on the Transverse at Bethesda Terrace.
